Why should I send my racquets to RACQUETMAXX for restringing?

If you don't have access to a competent, reliable stringing service, ours is available. Often we are faster than a local service with most string jobs going out in ONE business day. We take a lot of pride in our craft and will work with you to find the right string set-up for you and your game. Consistency is the key. We take care to insure that every string job is same time after time.

How can I tell if my current stringer is doing a good job?

There are too many things to list! The key is does it seem good to you? Consistency is the key. Does it feel and play the same after every restring? It should, unless you have changed string or tension. Does your stringer talk to you about your game? In order to help you make the best decision about your string set-up, he or she must talk to you. If they seem more interested in selling you their favorite string, then beware! One final clue is find out if they are certified by the U.S. Racquet Stringers Association as a Certified Racquet Stringer or Master Racquet Technician. If they are they will have a certificate displayed with their name on it. Many big box chains have one certified person for many stores and tout the certification but the guy actually stringing your racquet is clueless and careless!

What is a customized racquet and would one help my game?

Chances are your racquet IS customized! Customization can be anything from wrapping your grip a certain way to choosing a particular string and tension suited for your particular needs. In our business we take customization to another level by altering the weight, the swing weight, the handle shape and size and even the length to fit the needs of the player. Most players can benefit from customization of the swing weight of their racquet. Everyone swings differently and tuning the racquets specs to your game and swing style will insure optimum performance on the court. We work with each client to determine each and every aspect of the racquet that is optimal for your game and your style of play.

What is Racquet Matching?

Racquets are mass produced products and as such there will be slight differences in the Weight, Balance, and Swing Weight of racquets that look otherwise identical. Manufacturing tolerances allow for up to 12 grams variance in weight and swing weight under the best of circumstances. It is not unusual for greater variances to slip through the quality control. We take your racquets and alter the weight and swing weight to insure that every racquet in your bag feels and plays identical.

I love my new racquet but I like the shape and feel of my old racquet's handle. Can you help?

Yes! Although all handles are octagonal in shape and have standard sizes in 1/8 inch increments, the actual shape and feel will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The angle and the size of the individual bevels vary which will change the feel. Since the handle is the only part of the racquet you contact, this can be a critical component for many players. We have several different methods of addressing this issue. Just call us with your specific needs to see how we can help.
