The MASTER RACQUET TECHNICIANS at RacquetMaxx offers a full variety of racquet services:

CUSTOM STRINGING
Custom stringing means setting up your racquets to maximize your ability on court. This includes choosing the right string and right tension for your racquet and your particular style of play. Our clients playing on the pro tour know this. We have players playing with tensions as low as 42 pounds and as high as 80. We have players that use the thinnest natural gut available and those that use polyester or kevlar strings. What is important is making the right choice for you and your game. If you don’t already know what set up works best for you, our Certified Master Racquet Technicians can help you decide. We’ll discuss it with you and provide recommendations. It will take a little trial and error to find what works best, but once you find the right combination, it will be worth the effort.

Once you’ve settled on a string and tension, our technicians will make sure that you get the same results every time. All stringing machines are different, as is the stringing techniques of the technicians. This means that using the same string and same tension will not always result in the same playability. At RACQUETMAXX we use the latest, state of the art, BABOLAT STAR 5 machines and all of our technicians utilize the same methods to assure consistency in our work. Our machines are calibrated regularly and technicians constantly check each racquet serviced on our RACQUET DIAGNOSTIC CENTER COMPUTER. This assures you that our work is consistent and is of the very best quality available. (Find out more about strings here)

RACQUET CUSTOMIZATION
Almost every professional player plays with a racquet just like the one you can buy off the rack, with one exception. Their racquet has been customized to their specifications. This means that the weight and swingweight of the racquet has been altered to suit their particular style of play. Even if you are not on tour, your game can benefit from customization! Today’s racquets are generally lightweight and can benefit from a little added weight. However, just adding weight anywhere is not a good idea. A tiny bit of weight in the wrong place can dramatically alter the feel and performance of the racquet. Our technicians will talk to you about your game and style of play. We’ll also examine the wear pattern on your strings which tells us where you are making contact with the ball. Once this has been determined, we’ll add a small amount of weight in key areas, making sure to keep the racquet stable and in the proper balance. Once this is done, we’ll ask you to play with it and give us feed back. We’ll continue the process until the racquet is perfectly weighted and balanced for you. We’ll then record your weight and swingweight so that we can customize future racquets in the years to come. Once you’ve found the perfect weight and swingweight, you’ll need to have all your racquets matched so you’ll never be without your favorite racquet again.

RACQUET MATCHING
Whether you are a touring pro with ten or more racquets, or an average player with just two or three, it is important that they are all consistent. That means that the weight and swingweight are exactly the same on each racquet. When you by two frames, manufacturing tolerance allowances permit them to vary as much as 15 grams (1/2 ounce). That may not seem like a lot, but even to the casual player, it makes a drastic difference in the overall performance of the racquet. Our RACQUET MATCHING SERVICE will make every racquet in your bag exactly alike, assuring you that your momentum will never be interrupted by having to change to a different racquet in the middle of a big match. Each racquet will weigh the same (within 1/10 of gram!) and the swingweight will also be matched exactly utilizing our Babolat Racquet Diagnostic Center Computer.

GRIP MODIFICATIONS and RESIZING
RACQUETMAXX can modify your grips to your specific needs. From simply resizing to complete custom molding, we can handle it all. Just email our Master Racquet Technicians about your particular needs. Click here on information about measuring your grip size.

RACQUET MORPHING
If you have an old frame that is no longer available, we can use our database to find a new frame that can be customized to give you a similar feel as your old friend. There are many factors such as frame flex, string pattern, etc. that cannot be customized, but our “MORPH” process can get you close. Call and speak with one of our technicians about how the process works.

In-Shop Racquet Evaluation
The RACQUETMAXX Technicians will examine and analyze the client’s racquet(s) and interview the client regarding playing style, experiences, expectations, etc., as well as likes and dis-likes. The client will be provided with a written report on racquet specifications including:

  • Weight, length, swing weight (dynamic inertia), flex, static balance, center of percussion (sweet spots), strike zone, stringbed deflection, handle and grip. The report will also include recommendations on changes in frame specifications and/or string, tension, grip, etc. based on our analysis.
  • Clients may ship their racquets to RACQUETMAXX using the service order form and a technician will call at the client’s convenience to conduct the interview. Report and racquets will be shipped back within 72 hours.

On Court Racquet Evaluation
Following an In-Shop Racquet Evaluation, The RACQUETMAXX Technicians will meet with the client on court for the purpose of evaluating racquet performance in a playing environment. The client will run through a series of hitting drills with one RACQUETMAXX Technician while being observed by another RACQUETMAXX Technician. RACQUETMAXX Technicians may recommend different string set-ups and racquet specs following the In-Shop evaluation to test in the On-Court evaluation. During the evaluation we will experiment with various combinations to find an optimum set-up for the client. The client will receive a written report of analysis including recommended changes and adjustments. The evaluation is done at a court near our facility or the client can have our technicians come to them. Report will be furnished within 72 hours.
